October 2024

We went to the Northwest Chocolate Festival on Sunday, October 6th at Meydenbauer Center. We ended up buying one chocolate bar, three packs of beef jerky, and Harlie felt like shit because she was 37 weeks pregnant.

September 2024

We went to Lora Lee's Sunflower Farm out near Duvall, WA. We got lost in the sunflower / corn maze, picked a mason jar full of flowers, pet the goats and donkeys, then had dinner at Duvall Tavern. Great little afternoon.

October 2023 (jake)

Monday, October 30th (Halloween Eve)

Kind of a lazy idea, but fun nonetheless. We drove down to Mox Boarding House at about 6:30pm on Monday night. We found a new game, Caper: Europe, which they didn't have to borrow, so we bought it. We sat down in their restaurant area and played one game before heading home.

September 2023 (harlie)

This month, we went to happy hour at the Pacific Science Center. Harlie was fascinated by the lifespan of butterflies and the planetarium show, while Jake couldn’t stop touching stuff. It was a nice night of reminiscing about elementary school field trips.

August 2023 (jake)

Harlie and I went out the Far Side (Mini-Mart) crag at Exit 38 with Edgeworks. It was harlie’s first time climbing on real rock and extra practice for Jake.

July 2023 (harlie)

We drove down to Fauntlroy in the morning to catch the ferry over to Vashon Island. We made a quick stop at C&P Coffee Company (4.8 stars!) on the way down. Great views of Mount Rainier (Tahoma) and Mount Baker (Kulshan) on the ferry ride. After departing the ferry, we took Walt over to Wingehaven so that he could play in the Sound. Finally, we scooted over to downtown Vashon to enjoy day two of the annual Strawberry Festival. We checked out the car show, listened to live music, got some good beer and shitty brats, and got lots of guest pets. Great day!

June date 1:

with the stars! Well kinda, it was too cloudy. Jake booked a lecture at the UW observatory, after which we would have gotten to use the telescope if the weather had been better. Of the 8 moons we heard about, our moon was my favorite :) Excellent start to the week. Not so excellent photography on my part.

June date 2: Taj Mahal at Chateau St Michelle

We love live music, sunshine, and Taj = it was a really great night dancing with my hunny!

May 2023

Jake skipped May on account of two date night activities scheduled for June (20th and 23rd). Harlie is on the books for July.

April 2023 (harlie)

We had dinner at a nice Vietnamese place, then got monster ice cream sandos, and went axe throwing.

Did not observe date day. Jake was lazy.

January 2023 (harlie)

Dave and Buster’s arcade night + blind supermarket junk food and wine picks.

December 2022 (jake)

On Saturday, December 17th 2022, Walt, Harlie, and I drove up to Snoqualmie Pass. We snowshoed up to Hyak Lake and had a nice candle lit lunch. Actually, I put out the candle pretty quick because the great outdoors have no business smelling like fresh linen. Before heading down from the pass, we stopped in for a beer at Dru Bru.

November 2022 (harlie)

On Saturday, November 19th, Harlie booked a hotel for the three of us up in LaConner, WA. We had a nice trip up - stopping at a bird beach and a biker bar. Walt got coated black after jumping in a farm drainage ditch. We drank a bunch of wine and had a nice dinner before heading out early the next morning.

October 2022 (jake)

Bought tickets for Harlie and I to watch new outdoor films at The Mountaineers. One of our favorite stories ever - Harlie thought she won a raffle (she didn't) and in her excitement, spilled a beer all over a nice gentleman sitting in front of us. Cheers.

September 2022

Did not observe date day due to weddings and my trip to Switzerland with my Dad.

August 2022

Did not observe date day due to busyness surrounding our own wedding.

February 2022 (harlie)

Skating at Highland Ice Arena. I couldn't figure out a good way to snag a single frame from the video that Harlie took, so here is a photo of the nasty locker room shower from the rink. Pretty sure they developed the COVID-19 vaccine by swabbing the floor here.
